About 1734-OB8E

The 1734-OB8E is an Allen-Bradley manufactured Discrete Output module. This module belongs to the compact and scalable 1734 POINT I/O product family, used for implementing remote I/O or distributed I/O architecture. POINT I/O modules, including the 1734-OB8E is compatible for use with Allen-BradleyÕs Logix Controller family such as CompactLogix and ControlLogix Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC). The 1734-OB8E features an embedded Eight (8) non-isolated sourcing output channels. These output channels require an external DC voltage supply with range of 10-28.8VDC with a nominal value of 24VDC. Use the 1734-OB8E to energize field devices such as Motor and solenoid actuated valves, cylinders ant other actuators. It may also be used to turn on and off indicating devices such as Pilot lamps and alarm annunciator panels. It may also be used to energize sounding devices particularly buzzer, horn and siren. It can also actuate relay coils used in interposing circuits and Motor Control Center (MCC). These output devices may be triggered manually or automatically depending on the user defined logic. The 1734-OB8E discrete output module is a single slot module that is installed to a mounting base or a packaged terminal base assembly that consists of a mounting base and a removal terminal block. The module directly mounts to the Mounting base, for connection to the POINT I/OÕs POINTBus current. The required POINTBus current to energize the module is 75mA. The removable terminal block is used to provide interface to the output devices. Compatible module location catalog number is 1734-TB or 1734-TBS wiring base assembly. The module has an open type enclosure. This means the 1734-OB8E or any other POINT I/O modules must be installed inside an enclosure that offers adequate protection from foreign material such as dirt, dust, water among others. Similarly, the enclosureÕs temperature must be maintained between -20...+55 ¡C (-4...+131 ¡F) with maximum surrounding air temperature of 55 Degree Celsius. Use appropriate heating and cooling devices, depending on the enclosureÕs installation location and classification. Additionally, the module Thermal dissipation must also be considered as it dissipates heat at a rate of 6.8 BTU/hr. Similarly, Vibration and Shock has an effect to the module. The required operating shock must not exceed 30g and vibration must not exceed 5 g @ 10...500 Hz. Install appropriate shock and vibration limiting devices to limit these mechanical disturbances.
