About 1734-OB2

The 1734 POINT I/O component with catalog number 1734-OB2 is a Discrete Output Module. This module is an Allen-Bradley manufactured product that has Two (2) sourcing output channels, capable of providing 24VDC output voltage. It may be used to actuate electrical loads such as Pilot Lamps, Relays, Valves and other similar On/OFF loads for implementing automated or manual control of a process or machine. The 1734-OB2 being part of the POINT I/O product category is a Distributed I/O component. Distributed I/O is an proven, cost-effective solution for maximizing the supported I/O quantity of a master controller, eliminate high cost or wire runs, decentralizing signal and control devices and partitioning of control systems. the 1734-OB2 Discrete Output module has an output voltage range of 10-28.8VDC with nominal output of 24VDC. Each output channel is capable of producing 1.0A with a total output module current of 2.0A. The moduleÕs circuitry is powered via the POINTBus backplane current of 75 mA. This module is installed to a mounting base along a removable terminal block. Compatible mounting and wiring accessories are 1734-TB or 1734-TBS wiring base assembly. Install the module assembly to a yellow chromate or zinc plated as this type of DIN rails are composed of good conductive materials. This is important as the grounding connection of a POINT I/O moduleÕs grounding connection is established via the chassis and onto the DIN Rail connection. Avoid using non-conductive DIN rails such as plastic or material that may be easily affected by oxidation and corrosion. The module must be operated within an environment with temperature range of -20 ...+55 ¡C (-4...+131 ¡F) and maximum surrounding air temperature of 55 ¡C (131 ¡F). The module also has a Thermal dissipation of 2.7 BTU/hr at 28.8VDC. These specifications must be considered when designing an enclosure, particularly when selecting an appropriate climate control device. Additionally, limit surface vibration within 5 g @ 10...500 Hz and shock 50 g. Install appropriate vibration and shock limiting devices to minimize the effect of these parameters. The module is installed with a Two (2) yellow colored LED for indicating output status and Two (2) alternating green/red LED for indicating module status. The network status indicator also has the same alternating green/red LED color. The module status reports whether the module is properly or improperly configured, or under self-test. The network status module reports if the module has established connection to partner device while the Output channel status reports the channel activity, whether the output channel is activated or de-activated. Aside from the said features, the module allows direct data map addressing for output status monitoring and forcing and inclusion to the user logic.
The Allen-Bradley 1734-OB2 is a POINT I/O Discrete Output module. This module has Two (2) source output channels, operating at 10-28.8VDC voltage range. It is compatible with any POINT I/O communication adapters.

F.A.Q for 1734-OB2

Q: 1. Can I use the 1734-OB2 for AC applications?A: It cannot be directly used for AC applications. An interposing circuit or relay may be needed to use this module in AC applications.
Q: 2. What are the compatible communication adapters for use with the 1734-OB2?A: All 1734 communication adapters are compatible with 1734-OB2.
Q: 3. What are the compatible terminal bases for this module?A: Compatible terminal bases are 1734-TB or 1734-TBS wiring base assembly.

PDFsupply Tech

The 1734-OB2 is a POINT I/O Discrete output module with the least density of output channels. It only has Two (2) sourcing output channels, the least number a POINT I/O module can provide. This module may immediately affect in terms of cost impact. The module must be used in applications where lower output loads are existing with minimum expansion provision.
