About 1734-OA4

The 1734-OA4 is a POINT I/O module. This module is a Discrete Output module with Four (4) non-isolated, sourcing output channels. The output channels of this module is designed to provide voltage signal range of 85-264VAC at a frequency of 47-63 Hz while the nominal supply is 120 / 220VAC. the minimum and maximum ON-state voltage signals are 74VAC and 264VAC respectively while the minimum and maximum ON state current are 10 mA per channel and 750 mA per output, 2.0 A max per module respectively. The moduleÕs temperature versus current derating is at 2.0 A max per module @ 45¡C (113 ¡F) Derate linearly 30% to 1.4 A max per module @ 55 ¡C (131 ¡F). This module is installed to terminal base with catalog numbers 1734-TB, 1734-TBS, 1734-TOP, or 1734-TOPS wiring base assembly while the entire mounting base is installed to a DIN Rail. Use yellow chromate or zinc plated DIN rail to ensure continuous grounding connection. Avoid using non-conductive DIN rails. Install as many 1734-OA4 modules as required by the system. A single communication adapter may support up to 13 modules. With the use of system expansion power supplies, up to 63 POINT I/O modules may be installed in a single POINT I/O rack. POINT I/O rack may support a mixture of modules or a single type of module. Additionally, the 1734-OA4 supports all 1734 communication adapters such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet and ProfiBus communication adapters. Use the 1734-OA4 for energizing electrical loads such as Motor and motorized actuators, solenoid actuated valves, Pilot Lamps, annunciator panels, relays and magnetic contactors. This module may also be used for 24VDC applications indirectly, via interposing circuits or interposing relays. It may also be used as indirect replacement to the 1734-OA2 however, hardware reconfiguration is required. This module has embedded LED indicators such as Module, Network and individual I/O Status indicators. These LED indicators are used to report the operational status of the module as well as serve as troubleshooting tool and reference. The 1734-OA4 is an 8-bit module however, only Two (2) bits are used. Bits 0 and 1 are dedicated for output channels 0 and 1 accordingly. The remaining bits are not used. These registers are data registers being accessed by controllers for I/O mapping and integration to the controllerÕs I/O image and further connection to Human Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and other tools. POINT I/O modules send and receive messages. These I/O data are available through the POINTBus backplane and sent to the communication 1734 communication adapter. The data is transferred by the POINT I/O communication to the controller or network scanner. These messages are mapped onto the processorÕs memory.
The Allen-Bradley 1734-OA4 is a POINT I/O Discrete Input module. This module has Four (4) non-isolated sourcing output channels, operating at 85-264VAC voltage range. It is compatible with any POINT I/O communication adapters.

F.A.Q for 1734-OA4

Q: 1. What is the difference between the 1734-OA2 and 1734-OA4?A: The main difference between the modules are the no. of embedded channels. The 1734-OA2 has Two (2) input channels while the 1734-OA4 has Four (4) input channels.
Q: 2. Does the 1734-OA4 support Removal and Insertion Under Power (RIUP)? A: Yes, the module can be removed even if power is actively supplied to the POINTBus backplane.
Q: 3. What is the POINTBus current requirement of this module?A: Required POINTBus current is 75 mA @ 5V DC.

PDFsupply Tech
