The Allen-Bradley POINT I/O component with catalog number 1734-IV2 is a discrete input module with Two (2) sourcing input channels. This module is used as Programmable ControllerÕs interface for integration of discrete signaling devices. POINT I/O product family are commonly used for implementing a cost-effective remote or distributed I/O architecture. The 1734-IV2 is a single slot module that is compatible for installation to 1734-TB or 1734-TBS wiring base assembly. When terminating field signal wiring to the module, use solid or stranded wire with size range of 0.25-2.5 mm2or 22-14 AWG. Recommended wire temperature rating is 75 ¡C (167 ¡F) or greater 1 and maximum insulation of 1.2 mm or 3/64 inches. The moduleÕs field wiring terminals include 0 Ð Input 0, 1 Ð Input 1, 2 Ð No connection, 3 Ð No connection, 4 Ð Common, 5 Ð Common, 6 Ð User supply and 7 Ð User supply. The moduleÕs input channels operate at voltage range of 10-28.8VDC with nominal input rating of 24VDC. Each channelÕs minimum and maximum ON state signal values are 10VDC and 28.8VDC, respectively while the maximum OFF state voltage is 5VDC. Each channel also features an individually configured input filter time for both OFF to ON and ON to OFF transitions. The 1734-IV2 is built with status indicators particularly One (1) green/red for Module Status, logic side and One (1) green/red for network status, logic side. Each channel is also provided with individual indicator to visually display if the channel is at active or inactive state. The 1734-IV2 has a POINTBus current requirement of 75 mA @ 5V DC with Power Dissipation of 0.7 W @ 28.8V DC along a Thermal Dissipation rating of 2.4 BTU/hr @ 28.8V DC. The module is installed to a DIN rail, similar to other POINT I/O modules. Recommended DIN rail material are zinc plated or Yellow chromate DIN rail as the modules grounding are connected via the DIN rail. Avoid plastic or DIN rails made with materials with poor conductivity as well as materials that are easily affected by corrosion and oxidation. This module is typically used with instruments such as switches particularly position monitoring switches, selector switches, manual loader, magnetic reed switches, limit switches, pressure, level and flow switches and other similarly functioning devices.
