About 1734-IT2I

The 1734-IT2I is an Allen-Bradley module that belongs to the 1734 POINT I/O product family. This module is especially compatible for use with Temperature measuring applications as Thermocouple modules are used for Temperature measurement. For processes with Temperature ranges of 300...1800 ¡C, 0...2315 ¡C, -250...+1000 ¡C, -210...+1200 ¡C, -250...+1372 ¡C, -250...+1300 ¡C, 0...1768 ¡C, 0...1768 ¡C and -250...+400 ¡C, the 1734-IT2I may be used. This module also supports direct input of millivolt signals with range of +/- 70 mV which may be transmitted by transducers used for displacement measurements. The 1734-IT2I has Two (2) differential and isolated millivolt input channels. By default, the module is set to millivoltage range of -70 mV - +70 mV. For Thermocouple sensors, the supported Thermocouple sensors are Type B, C, E, J, K, R, N, S and T. It has a built-in resolution of 15 bits plus sign 2.5 _V/cnt. It has an internally built Analog to Digital circuitry via Delta-Sigma conversion, which allow conversion of analog signal to a 16-bit, Signed Integer digital data. The module has an absolute accuracy of 0.1% Full Scale @ 25 ¡C (77 ¡F) and accuracy drift of 30 ppm/¡C. This module has a POINTBus current draw of 175 mA @ 5V DC, Power Dissipation of 1.0 W and Thermal Dissipation of 3.3 BTU/hr. This module does not require external power supply as it uses the POINTBus backplane to energize individual module circuitry. The mode important configurable parameters of this module are Configuration tab which holds parameters such as sensor type, temperature units, High and Low Engineering, Digital Filters, Notch Filter, Cold Junction enable and Cold Junction Offset. Alarm configuration tab allows setting of Very High, High, Low and Very Low Alarms including alarm latch and alarm disabling. Calibration tab sets the calibration parameter of each channel which may be done simultaneously or one at a time. This module must be mounted in a terminal base specifically 1734-TBCJC. This terminal base is included with Cold Junction compensation terminal with compensation range of 0É70 ¡C (32É158 ¡F). Use specific Thermocouple wires for this module. The 1734-TBCJCÕs appropriate wire sizes include 0.25-2.5 mm2 or 22-14 AWG shielded thermocouple wire, 1.2 mm (3/64 in.) maximum insulation. It is not recommended to use ordinary Copper wires as the resistivity of these wires may significantly reduce the millivolt signal to the moduleÕs channel. This module has LED indicators such as One (1) green/red Ð module status indicator; One (1) green/red Ð network status indicator and Two (2) green/red Ð input status indicators. These indicators are used as local operational and troubleshooting guide for the module. Additionally, each state of the module are stored in a 16-bit register which may be accessed by a central monitoring station for remote monitoring of the moduleÕs state.
The 1734-IT2I is a POINT I/O Thermocouple Input module. This module has Two (2)differential and isolated millivolt inputs, compatible with Thermocouple types such as B, C, E, J, K, R, N, S and T and millivolt signal with range of -70 mV - +70 mV.

F.A.Q for 1734-IT2I

Q: 1. What are the supported sensors by the 1734-IT2I?A: Supported Thermocouple sensors are B, C, E, J, K, R, N, S and T and millivolt signal with range of -70 mV - +70 mV.
Q: 2. What is the resolution of the 1734-IT2I?A: The moduleÕs resolution is 15 bits plus sign 2.5 _V/cnt.
Q: 3. Can I calibrate the channels of this module?A: This module is factory calibrated. However, calibration may be initiated using the programming software, by accessing the Calibration tab of the module properties.

PDFsupply Tech

The 1734-IT2I is a Thermocouple and millivolt input module that belongs to the 1734 POINT I/O system. This module supports a variety of Thermocouple modules as well as millivolt signal. Compared to the 1734-IR2 which is an RTD module, these module serves specific types of sensors which are generally for Thermocouple applications.
