The 1734-IR2 is a Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) module that belongs to the POINT I/O product family. This module is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) or Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) component manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This module and the entire POINT I/O product category is used in implementing Distributed I/O system. It is compatible for with Allen-Bradley controllers and some 3rd party devices. The modules input range is 0-600 Ohms with an absolute accuracy of 0.1% Full Scale @ 25 ¡C (77 ¡F) and drift of 30 ppm/¡C. It has an Analog to Digital converter using Delta-Sigma conversion method. The converted data is stored to a 16-bit register or 1 WORD per channel in Signed Integer format. The 1734-IR2 creates Three (3) Words of Data with Word 0 assigned for Channel 0, WORD 1 assigned for Channel 1 and WORD 2 are assigned for channel status. Channel status are embedded internal diagnostics capability of the module which include Overrange and Underrange detection, Very High, High, Low and Very Low Alarm, Calibration mode and Channel fault status. This alarms may be disabled or lathed. Individual configurable channel parameters are sensor type, Temperature units with options such as Celsius, Kelvin, Fahrenheit, Rankine and Custom defined; High and Low Engineering values; and Digital Filters with selectable range of 0-10000 ms. Each channel are also provided with calibration points of 100-500 Ohms with option to calibrate simultaneously or one at a time. This module has status indicator intended for the logic side. Indicators include One (1) green/red Ð module status indicator; One (1) green/red Ð network status indicator; and Two (2) green/red Ð input status indicators. Compatible terminal base for this module are 1734-TB, 1734-TBS, 1734-TOP, or 1734-TOPS. Use conductors with specifications 0.25-2.5 mm2 or 22-14 AWG solid or stranded shielded copper wire rated at 75 ¡C (167 ¡F) or greater 1.2 mm (3/64 in.) insulation. Operating temperature of the module is -20 to 55 Degree Celsius, maximum surrounding air temperature of 55 Degree Celsius, Storage Temperature -40-85 ¡C or -40-185 ¡F and Relative Humidity of 5É95% noncondensing. The moduleÕs operating vibration is 5 g @ 10-500 Hz and operating shock of 30 g.
