The Allen-Bradley 1734-IM4 is a POINT I/O member module. This electronic component is manufactured by Allen-Bradley used as Discrete Input module of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) or Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC). It is used to interface ON/OFF devices operating in 220VAC voltage categories. Such as switches, sensors and auxiliary contacts. The 1734-IM4 features Four (4) AC input channels that may be operated in 159-264VAC with operating frequency of 47-63 Hz. This module has maximum POINTBus current darw of 75 mA @ 5V DC, Power Dissipation of 0.48 W @ 264V AC, and Thermal Dissipation of 1.63 BTU/hr @ 264V AC. The thermal dissipation property of the module must be considered when selecting a climate control device for maintaining the internal temperature of the enclosure. The 1734-IM4, among other POINT I/O modules are designed to be operated in temperature range of -20 to 55 Deg. Celsius. If the module will serve as backup module, store the module at a temperature range of -40-85 ¡C or -40-185 ¡F. The moduleÕs operating shock vibration is 5 g @ 10É500 Hz and shock of 30 g. The 1734-IM4 must be installed in terminal base and terminal base assemblies with catalog numbers 1734-TB, 1734-TBS, 1734-TOP, or 1734-TOPS. To ensure adequate wire Torque, recommended wire sizes are 0.25-2.5 mm2 or 22-14 AWG which may be solid or stranded copper wire with insulation rating of 75 ¡ C or 167 ¡ F, or greater, 1.2 mm (3/64 in.). Terminal base screw torque is 0.8 Nm (7 lb-in). This module is fitted with LED indicators for troubleshooting which allow any user to identify the moduleÕs state. The Module status indicator may display Solid Green to indicate a normally operating device, Flashing Green if the device is lacking configuration for proper operation, Flashing Red if the device has recoverable fault, Solid Red for unrecoverable fault, Alternate Red and Green flashes which indicates device is in self-test mode. The Network status LED is OFF when the device is not online, Flashing Greed if device is online but does not have an active connection, Solid Red to indicate critical link failure, alternate Red and Green flashes to indicate a communication faulted device or network access error. The I/O status LED is OFF if the input channels is active and solid Yellow if the LED is in ON-state. The 1734-IM4 creates an 8-bit register or 1-Byte where Bit 0 is intended for channel 0, Bit 1 is for Channel 1, Bit 2 is for Channel 2 and Bit 3 is for Channel 3. This input data map is locally and accessed via the POINTBus where it is being captured via the 1734 POINT I/O communication adapter.
