About 1734-IM2

The 1734-IM2 is an Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)or Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) component. This electronic hardware belongs to the 1734 POINT I/O family, used to implement distribute I/O technology. The 1734-IM2 features Two (2) input channels are compatible for 159-264VAC input signals at 47-63 Hz operating frequency. This module is typically used to integrate AC devices, operating in ON/OFF or binary mode. Some of these input devices are switches, sensors and auxiliary contacts. Switches may include limit switch, pressure switch, level switch, door switch, selector switch and others. Sensors may include Two (2) or Three (3) wire sensors such as photoelectric and capacitive sensors. Auxilliary contacts typically come from instruments as configurable relay contacts to report operation status. In most common practical applications, auxiliary contacts may be used for reporting thermal overload and RUN feedback status of devices, particularly motors. This module has LED indicators which allow any user to identify and interpret the moduleÕs operational state. It is installed with a Module status indicator, Network status and I/O status indicator. The module status may report if the device is supplied with adequate power supply, Device operating normally, needs further configuration, encountering an unrecoverable fault or in self-test mode. Network status LED reports if the device is online, no active connections, I/O connections in timed-out state, or fault communication is detected. I/O status LEDs reports the status of the each input channels state, whether in Logic 0 or Logic 1 state. Electrical characteristics of this module includes maximum POINTBus current of 75 mA @ 5V DC, Power Dissipation of 0.48 W @ 264V AC, and Thermal Dissipation of 1.63 BTU/hr @ 264V AC. The 1734-IM2 module is compatible with 1734-TB, 1734-TBS, 1734-TOP, or 1734-TOPS terminal base and terminal base assemblies. Recommended wire size for use with this module is 0.25É2.5 mm2 (22É14 AWG) solid or stranded copper wire rated at 75 ¡ C (167 ¡ F), or greater, 1.2 mm (3/64 in.) insulation max. The moduleÕs operating temperature is -20 to 55 Deg. Celsius. This temperature parameter is similar to temperature requirements of other module, to allow the user to control a common temperature requirement and for ease of designing climate control system within the enclosure where the POINT I/O module is installed. Similarly, the moduleÕs operating vibration and shock maintains the same rating as to other modules which are 5 g @ 10-500 Hz and 30 g respectively. This module ins installed to a DIN rail along other 1734 POINT I/O modules. Install as many 1734-IM2 modules as needed, following the maximum number of POINT I/O modules that may be installed in rack the power supply requirement.
The Allen-Bradley 1734-IM2 is a POINT I/O Discrete Input module. This module has Two (2) non-isolated, sinking input channels, operating at 159-264VAC voltage range at 47-63Hz frequency. It is compatible with any POINT I/O communication adapters.

F.A.Q for 1734-IM2

Q: 1. What is the main difference between 1734-IA2 and 1734-IM2?A: The main difference between the Two modules are the operating voltage ranges. 1734- IA2 operates at a nominal voltage of 120 VAC while the 1734-IM2 operates at 220 VAC nominal voltage.
Q: 2. Does this module have status indicators?A: Yes, it has module status, network status, and I/O status indicators.
Q: 3. What are compatible communication adapters for this module?A: This module may be used with any POINT I/O communication adapters?

PDFsupply Tech

The 1734-IM2 is a POINT I/O discrete AC input module. This module is compatible for operation at AC Voltage ranging from 159É264V AC at 47É63 Hz operating frequency. This module has similar parameters with the 1734-IA2 except that the latter is used for 120 VAC nominal voltage while the 1734-IM2 is used for 220VAC nominal voltage.
