The POINT I/O module with part number 1734-IE4C is a Four (4) channel analog input module. This electronic component is manufactured by Allen-Bradley that is commonly used for interfacing process variables present in process areas and may serve as general purpose analog input module. Being part of the POINT I/O product platform, this module is typically deployed as part of a cost-effective distributed I/O solution wherein POINT I/O modules are deployed locally, near the input and output sources instead of installing individual controllers. Data from the POINT I/O is collected via the local I/O register of the module, sent to the communication adapter via the POINTBus backplane which is then transferred to the central controllerÕs local I/O image via the communication data highway. The 1734-IE4C receives 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA signal from transmitters, recorders, indicators, signal converters, isolators and other similarly compatible signal sources. The signal received is converted to digital data via the individually embedded Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) for each analog input channel. The converter type installed with this module is Delta-Sigma converter with 16 bit resolution over 0 to 21 mA 0.32 _A/cnt with an absolute accuracy of 0.1% Full Scale @ 25 ¡C with drift of 30 ppm/¡C. The converted data is stored in a 16-bit register in Signed Integer data format with range of -32767 to +32768 raw value. This module is provided with tuning parameters such as Input update rate 240 ms @ Notch = 50 Hz; 120 ms @ Notch = 100 Hz; 100 ms @ Notch = 120 Hz; 60 ms @ Notch = 200 Hz; 50 ms @ Notch = 240 Hz; 40 ms @ Notch = 300 Hz; 30 ms @ Notch = 400 Hz; 25 ms @ Notch = 480 Hz; with 200 ms @ Notch = 60 Hz set as default. It also has a step response of 60 ms @ Notch = 50 Hz; 30 ms @ Notch = 100 Hz; 25 ms @ Notch = 120 Hz; 15 ms @ Notch = 200 Hz; 12.5 ms @ Notch = 240 Hz; 10 ms @ Notch = 300 Hz; 7.5 ms @ Notch = 400 Hz; 6.25 ms @ Notch = 480 Hz; with 50 ms @ Notch = 60 Hz set as default. This module is factory calibrated and equipped with an internal overload protection to 28.8VDC. It is also equipped with One (1) green/red network status indicator, One (1) green/red module status indicator and Four (4) green/red input status indicators. The module status indicator informs the user regarding the overall operational state of the module while the network status depicts the status of communication with partner devices, residing at the POINTBus backplane. The individual channel indicator LEDs informs the user if the module is in CAL mode, normally operating, Actively being calibrated, experiencing a major fault and out of range.
