The 1734-IB4 is a POINT I/O module. This module is a Discrete Input module which is one of the commonly used module for Programmable Logic Controller s (PLC) or Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC). POINT I/O product family is manufactured by Allen-Bradley which features a small form factor, ideal for tight and limited panel space and promotes cost-effectivity. This product family is compatible with Allen-Bradley controllers and may also be used with 3rd party systems. The 1734-IB4 features Four (4) input channels with each channel compatible with 24VDC input voltage. Each channel has individually configurable filter time for ON to OFF and OFF to ON transitions. Filter times serve as signal delay which is typically used to prevent False negative and False positive detections. In most application, the default time is sufficient. In applications where signal noises are present such as fluctuations, filter times are practical configuration option for proper detection of signals. The moduleÕs allowable channel input voltage range is 10-28.8VDC. It is compatible with several terminal bases with part number of terminal base with catalog number 1734-TB or 1734-TBS wiring base assembly. It is equipped with One (1) Module Status indicator, One (1) Network status indicator and Four (4) channels or I/O status indicator. The minimum and maximum ON state voltage of each channels are 10.0 VDC and 28.8VDC respectively while the minimum and maximum ON state current is 2mA and 5 mA respectively. Each channel also has individually configured input filter time with selection range of 0-63 ms on top of the hardwareÕs 0.5 ms. This module has a POINTBus current draw of 75 mA @ 5V DC. The module has isolation voltage rating of 50V (continuous), Reinforced Insulation Type Tested @ 2500V DC for 60 s, field-side to system. The 1734-IB4 is compatible for use with any POINT I/O communication adapters such as 1732-APB or Profibus communication adapter, 1734-AENT for Ethernet, 1734-ADN for DeviceNet, 1734-ACNR for ControlNet communication. It may also be used with expansion power supplies such as 1734-EP24DC or 24VDC expansion power supply or 1734-EPAC or AC expansion Power supply. There is no actual limit to the number of 1734-IB4 installation however, the power supply rules as well as the number of maximum supported POINT I/O modules must be observed. The 1734-IB4 has Eight (8) terminal, where channels 0-4 are designated for Input signals 0-4 while terminals 4-5 are common and terminals 6-7 are designated as user supply terminals.
