The Allen-Bradley 1734-CTM is a POINT I/O module. This module expands the capability of termination of POINT I/O system. It supports high density modules, those modules which have Eight (8) channels. It is important to note that POINT I/O has a small and compact form and features a cost- effective option for implementing distributed I/O system thus, Eight (8) channel modules are considered high density modules. This module improves wiring management of field devices to the corresponding POINT I/O module. The 1734-CTM requires the use of terminal base units such as 1734-TB, 1734-TBS, 1734-TOP, or 1734-TOPS. It has an isolation voltage of 250V (continuous) that is a Basic Insulation Type, Tested at 1600V DC for 60 s, field-side to system. It requires a field power supply voltage range of 10-28.8VDC or 120 / 240VAC filed supply current of 2A per point or 4A module. This module has Eight (8) common terminals. It supports Source and Sinking input wiring or for general purpose wiring applications. This module has physical dimensions of 2.2H x 0.47W x 2.97L or (56H x 12W x 75.5L). It has an operating temperature of -20 to 55¡C (-4 to 131¡F), operating shock of 30g peak acceleration and operating vibration of 5g @ 10-500Hz. Recommended wire sizes for termination to this module measures 14 AWG (2.5mm2 ) - 22 AWG (0.25mm2 ) which can be a solid or stranded copper wire with 75¡C or greater 3/64 inch (1.2mm) maximum insulation rating. For module storage, the recommended storage temperature is -40 to 85¡C (-40 to 185¡F) wit ha relative humidity of 5 to 95% noncondensing. To maximize the designed operation lifespan of this module, install appropriate climate control devices to maintain the specified operating temperature. This module may be installed before or after the mounting base is installed. The required key position is position 5. The module consists of terminal base, Removable Terminal Block (RTB) and the module itself. To install the mounting base, it must be positioned vertically. Slide the mounting base down to align the interlocking side pieces for engaging any adjacent POINT I/O module. Apply firm and gentle pressure to lock the mounting base to the DIN rail. To install the module, a bladed screwdriver is required to rotate the key switch according to the required position. The DIN rail locking screw should be in the horizontal position. The module installs straight down to the mounting base. Apply firm and gentle pressure to secure the connection to the mounting base. The Removable Terminal Block (RTB) is supplied along the terminal base. To install the RTB, insert the end opposite into the base unit. The terminal block must be rotated to lock in place. If an I/O module is already installed, the RTB may be snapped into place on the module. It must be defined into the hardware configuration. This module has complied with safety standard UL 508 - Industrial Control Equipment CSA C22.2 No. 142-M1987 for Process Control Equipment.
