The 1760-L20BBB-EX Controller is a Pico controller manufactured by Allen-Bradley as a member of the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation Pico Controller series. It comes with 20 I/O points, including 12 digital input points and 8 transistor output points with a voltage rating of 24 Volts DC, the option to support an expanded number of I/O points, and a real-time clock. It is engineered specifically to support I/O expansion and additional output from the MicroLogix modules. The Pico Controllers, including the 1760-L20BBB-EX Pico Controller, are electronic control relays that incorporate real-time clocks, logic devices, timers, and counter modules. These controllers are best-suited for providing control and input data to machines, and they can therefore handle a variety of tasks in industrial building and machine control applications.

The Allen-Bradley 1760-L20BBB-EX Pico Controller is programmed using ladder programs, and it has a display screen through which all the programming and control commands are entered. Every command and function must be keyed-in directly; for instance, the operators can keep track of the current level in the program while also connecting, breaking, and making contacts in the Pico Controller devices in the system. The controllers can work in parallel and they can load, save, and protect programs using passwords. Additionally, they are intended to help connect the output relays and the markers, to display the text with variables, and to help define the outputs as relays, flip-flop relays, or latching relays. These Pico controllers can allocate up to 8 counters up and down and choose the timing relays with different functions. When mounting the 1760-L20BBB-EX Pico Controller, it should be hooked over the DIN rail, with the bottom side of this unit snapped into place in the right position.
