The MicroLogix 1764-24AWA is a MicroLogix 1500 base unit. This base unit is used to primarily house MicroLogix Processors and other components such as Data Access Tool (DAT). The base unit technically functions as the local chassis. This base unit requires an AC input supply of 85/265VAC. This base unit comes with an integrated Twelve (12) 120VAC discrete inputs with ON state voltage of 79-132VAC and OFF state voltage range of 0-20VAC. It also has a Twelve (12) Relay outputs with isolation in every 2 outputs. These standard input channels are typically used for interfacing field instruments operating in ON/OFF mode. The operating voltage range of the relay output channels are 0-125VDC and 0-265VAC. Each channel is capable 2.0A continuous current at 24VDC operation, 1.0A at 125VDC operation, and 2.5A for 120/240VAC operation. The mechanical life of the relay contacts is rated 20,000,000 cycles. Relay outputs are flexible output type, capable of being operated with different voltage range. The base unit is designed to house MicroLogix 1500 controllers 1764-LSP and 1764-LRP. Aside from controllers, other modules that may be installed to this base unit are Real-Time Clock, Memory Modules, Data Access Tool. The dimension of this base unit is 138 mm (5.43 in.) - Latch open; 118mm (4.65 in.) - latch closed; Width168 mm (6.62 in) and Depth (87 mm (3.43 in). All sides of the base unit must have a clearance of 50 mm or 2 inches away from enclosure walls, enclosure components, wireways and other devices. The base units are provided protective stickers installed to cover the cooling fins of the module. This protective sticker is not intended to remain from its installation point. It is simply intended to protect the module from entry of foreign objects especially conductive materials. Maintain this sticker when installation activities are being performed within the enclosure where the base unit will be installed. Remove the stickers when the controller assembly is about to be energized. If not removed, air flow will be impeded. The base unit has a minimum ON-state current of 5.0 mA at 79VAC; maximum ON-state Current of 16.0 mA at 132VAC and nominal On-State Current of 12.0 mA at 120VAC. It has a nominal impedance of 12k ohms at 50 Hz and 10k ohms at 60 Hz. The operating temperature of the base unit is +0¡C to +55¡C or +32¡F to +131¡F. Maintain this temperature within the enclosure by installing appropriate cooling or heating unit. The operating vibration is 10 to 500 Hz, 5G, 0.015 in. peak-to-peak and operating shock of 20G panel mounted or 15g if DIN Rail mounted.
