About 1762-L24BWA

The 1762-L24BWA is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) from Allen-Bradley. This controller belongs to the compact type of controllers where minimum hardware components to function as PLC is already installed to the hardwareÕs single housing. These components are power supply, embedded inputs and outputs, communication terminals, and programmable memory. This controller has a rackless design and supports DIN rail or panel mounting installation. Expansion modules are installed beside the base hardware via the supplied flat ribbon cable. The acceptable power supply requirement of this controller type ranges from 100-240VAC with frequency of 47-63 Hz. The controller can withstand an inrush current of 15A for 20 ms. The embedded input channel has an electronic circuit that accepts sinking and sourcing configuration which may be operated at a voltage input of 24VDC. Input channels 0-3 has an acceptable range of 14VDC as the minimum ON state value and 24VDC as the maximum ON state value. The OFF state voltage range is 0-5 VDC. Inputs 0-3 are high-speed inputs and operates as a switching frequency of 0Hz to 20 kHz. Inputs 4 and higher are standard inputs with minimum ON state voltage of 10VDC and maximum ON state voltage of 24VDC as well. Standard supports switching frequency of 0 Hz to 1 kHz however, also relies according to the controllerÕs scan time. The 1762-L24BWAÕs output channels are relay output channels which are Form A or Normally Open contacts. Each contact has a mechanical rating of 20,000,000 cycles and Turn ON / Turn OFF time of 10 msec. The minimum load current of the relay outputs are 10 mA with a continuous current rating of 2.0A for 24VDC, 1.0A for 125VDC and 2.5A for 120VAC / 240VAC operation. The integrated memory of this MicroLogix 1200 controller amounts to 6Kbytes with a pre-allocation of 4Kbytes user memory and 2Kbytes Data storage memory. This programmable memory stores the user program and allows the processor to access the stored data within. User program is executed through different phases, particularly Input Status scan, Logic Scan, Outputs status scan and Internal housekeeping. The embedded communication port the 1762-L24BWA is an RS232 / RS485 combo port. The RS232 port supports DH-485, DF1 Full-duplex, DF1 Half-duplex, DF1 Radio Modem, Modbus Master and Slave, and ASCII communication protocols. The default configuration of the RS232 ports is 19.2K baud rate, No Parity, Node Address of 1, No Handshaking, and Stop Bits set to 1. This same communication port may be used to communicate with HMI, SCADA, DCS systems, gateways, converters and other automation components. ASCII protocol is a device level communication, typically used to directly integrate barcode readings. ASCII devices are commonly installed in the manufacturing industry.
The Allen-Bradley 1762-L24BWA is a MicroLogix 1200 Controller. This controller is designed for Power Supply input voltage of 120VAC / 240VAC with embedded Ten (10) 24VDC standard, Four (4) High-speed inputs and Ten (10) Relay output channels. This controller has One (1) RS232 / RS485 combo port that supports serial and networked topologies.
