About 1763-MM1

The 1763-MM1 is a memory module exclusively compatible for the MicroLogix 1100 Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). This memory module features an integral memory amounting to 128KB. The memory module provides additional backup that can be stored separately. The memory module does not increase the available memory of the controller. Up to one user program can be stored in this memory module at a time. When active data transfer is happening, the controllerÕs RUN LED flashes. Do not interrupt or remove the memory module when in this state. The 1763-MM1 is compatible with controllers such as 1763-L16AWA, 1763-L16BWA, 1763-L16BBB, 1763 -L16DWD. It supports Removal and Insertion Under Power (RIUP) however, power cycle is required to allow the controller to recognize the newly inserted memory module. The allowable functions of this memory module includes user programs and data to be store as backup; transport programs for use with other controllers; special safety/security features for press control and other critical applications; auto-recovery, through a power cycle, after a controller fault; comparison of programs; data file and memory module write protection. It can be monitored and configure to automatically load the program everytime the controller is power cycled. To load the memory to the PLC Random Access Memory (RAM), connect and go online to the processor, select EEPROM option and invoke Load from EEPROM command. First status bit is S:1/10 which is Load Memory Module on Memory Error, S1:11 Load Memory Module Always and S1:/12 On PowerUp, Go to Run command. To automatically load the program when the controller encounters memory error, the S:1/10 must be set to One (1). With this bit set, the memory contents is automatically loaded when the memory is faulted and power is applied to the controller. To load the memory module contents every time the controller is applied or controller is power cycled, Set S:1/11 to One (1). Additionally, using the S:2/9 bit, the program stored in the memory module may be compared to the existing program in the controller. If the memory module contents is different from the current program in the controllerÕs RAM, execution will not be possible. This feature is enabled by setting the S:2/9 bit to One (1). The 1763-MM1 also supports running of a MicroLogix 1100 Series B controller to a MicroLogix Series A Controller. To do this, reconfigure the offline PLC program to a series A MicroLogix Controller. Set the appropriate bits such as Load Memory Module Always or Load Memory on Memory Module error. Download the reconfigured offline program to the Series B controller. Save the Series A controller and load the 1763-MM1 in the MicroLogix 1100 Series A controller.
