About 1763-L16BBB

The MicroLogix 1100 with part number 1763-L16BBB is a compact controller used for simple control applications. This controller features 24VDC power supply, Ten (10) 24VDC discrete inputs, Two (2) 10VDC analog inputs, Two (2) relay outputs and Four (4) 24VDC FET outputs. The input channels operate at a Voltage range of 14 - 26.4VDC (+10%) at 65 ¡C/149 ¡F or 14 - 30VDC (+25%) at 30 ¡C/86 ¡F. The OFF-state Voltage range is 0-5VDC. The minimum on-state current of the input channels are 2.5 mA at 14VDC, maximum ON-state current of 12.0 mA at 30VDC and nominal ON-state current of 8.8 mA at 24VDC. Within the Ten (10) input channels are Four (4) high-speed inputs allocated from channels 0-3. The Two (2) analog inputs are compatible for 0-10VDC input signals. It has an input resolution of 10-bit and data type of 10-bit signed integer. The input coding of the analog input channel is 0 - 1023 units. The channels overall accuracy is +/- 0.5% of Full-scale value and non-linearity of +/- 0.5% of Full scale as well. The FET output channels are rated 24VDC while the relay output operate at 125 VDC with continuous current of 1.0A, 120/240VAC with continuous current of 2.5A. The mechanical life of the relay output channels is estimated for 10,000,000 switching cycles with minimum load current of 10mA. This controller supports a variety of expansion modules from the 1762 MicroLogix product family. Digital expansion modules include 1762-IA8, 1762-IQ8, 1762-IQ16, 1762-IQ32T, 1762-OA8, 1762-OB8, 1762-OB16, 1762-OB32T, 1762-OV32T, 1762-OW8, 1762-OW16, 1762-OX6I, 1762-IQ8OW6. Analog expansion modules include 1762-IF4, 1762-OF4, 1762-IF2OF2 and Temperature specific modules include 1762-IR4 and 1762-IT4. The 1763-L16BBB has integrated RS232 combination port that is capable of RS232 and RS485 standard. This port supports DF1, ASCII and MODBUS protocol. DF1 is the native protocol supported by most Allen-Bradley products. This protocol operates in peer-to-peer mode an ideal for use in short distances, typically 15 meters. Most factory-floor installed Human Machine Interface (HMI) use this protocol to locally exchange data with the controller. If configured for MODBUS, the port support Master/Slave configuration which is the typical configuration of MODBUS protocol. A master device in the network, usually an HMI or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) requests data or information from any of the 247 slave devices, including this controller. MODBUS is typically installed in substation automation and power metering applications. ASCII protocol is commonly implemented in the manufacturing industry where a barcode sensor is attached to this port. This sensor continuously monitors product information embedded in the barcode to properly sort, record and verify the integrity of the product. Ethernet communication is used for multi-node communication, similar to peer-to-peer however, capable of simultaneously communicating to different partner devices. It supports transmission speed of 10/100 Mbps and auto-negotiation functionality. Typical use of this protocol is the deployment of plant-wide communication highway for implementing an enterprise network connectivity.
The 1763-L16BBB is a MicroLogix 1100 Controller. This controller is designed for Power Supply Input Voltage of 24VDC with embedded Twelve (12) 24VDC discrete inputs, Two (2) 0-10 VDC analog inputs, Two (2) Relay Outputs, and Four (4) FET Outputs. It has integrated RS232 and Ethernet communication ports for device communication. This controller is configured and programmed with RSLogix 500 programming software.
