This controller is designed for Power Supply Input Voltage of 120 - 240VAC with embedded Twelve (12) 120VAC discrete inputs, Two (2) 0-10 VDC analog inputs and Six (6) Relay Outputs. It has integrated RS232 and Ethernet communication ports for device communication. The Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1100 controller 1763-L16AWA is a MicroLogix 1100 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). This controller family is a cost-effective compact controller package as it is embedded with Twelve (12) 120VAC discrete inputs, Two (2) 0-10VDC analog inputs and Six (6) Relay outputs and supports installation of 1762 expansion modules. This controller includes a single 8-Pin mini DIN RS232 / RS485 combination port. It supports DF1, MODBUS RTU, ASCII communication protocol. It also has an Ethernet communication port which allows this controller to communicate via Ethernet I/P protocol. The DF1 protocol is an Allen-Bradley proprietary protocol which is primarily used for direct communication such as performing upload and download operation, local connection of Human Machine Interface (HMI) in the factory floor. If configured for MODBUS RTU protocol, this controller may perform the same functionality as the DF1 however, supports a single master in the network where up to 247 slaves may be connected. Using this protocol, the controller may directly interface with Power Meters and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED) typically found in substation and power metering systems. If configured for ASCII protocol, the communication may be used in the manufacturing industry for scanning barcodes of products, allowing proper batch and production information. The Ethernet communication port eliminates the need for ethernet converter and enables this controller to connect to higher level control systems such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and enterprise network. This port supports 10/100 Mbps transmission speed with auto-negotiation function. This controller is also provided with a LED display accompanied with configuration keypads. This simple user interface allows operating principles, I/O status display, monitoring bit file, monitoring integer file, using the mode switch, using a user defined LCD screen, changing key in mode, using communications toggle functionality, viewing Ethernet port configuration, using trim pots, viewing system information and viewing of fault codes. This controller may be added with a memory module with part number 1763-MM1 that has 128 KB memory. This memory module is a detachable memory module that may serve as a back-up memory storage to the integral memory of the controller. The 1763-L16AWA has an replaceable battery that is already connected. This battery must be monitored as it retains the user program in the controllerÕs Random-Access Memory (RAM). If the battery LED indicator becomes active, this may mean that the battery wire is disconnected or the battery charger is low. From the first indication of low charge, the battery will operate for up to Two (2) weeks before the stored voltage completely drains. The part number of this battery is 1763-BA. This controller is also equipped with a Two (2) Trim potentiometers which is primarily used for simulating an analog signal or act as a local adjustment to any link data or variable.
