This controller is generally used in small sized application particularly machine control, material handling, valve sequencing and other applications. MicroLogix 1000 are Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) with a non-expandable hardware therefore, the operation of thi controller is limited by its embedded feature. This controller is powered by an external AC power supply with operational range of 85-264V ac. It has a rated power consumption of 30VA for 120VAC or 36VA for 240VAC operation. It can withstand a inrush current of 30A for 8 ms. The discrete input channels of this controller amount to Twelve (12) points, operating at a Voltage category of 24VDC. Use this input channels to interface signaling devices that operate in ON/OFF or binary mode such as switches, sensors, auxiliary contacts and other electrical signaling devices. Embedded discrete output channels have a total of Eight (8) Relay output channels that may be operated in 24-125 VDC or 120/240VAC voltage range. It has individual common to allow channel isolation. The 1761-L1620BWA-5A is provided with an 8-pin mini DIN physical RS232 physical interface that is compatible with 1761-CBL-HM02 for connection to a MicroLogix 1000 Han-Held Programmer (1761-HHP-B30), 1761-CBL-AM00, 1761-CBL-AP00, and 1747-CP3 for connection to an Advanced Interface Converter (AIC). This communication channel supports Allen-Bradley proprietary DF1 protocol for direct communication to programming workstations and Hand-Held Programmers (HHP), Human Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), gateways, converters, OPC servers and other devices. The integrated memory of this controller remains at 1KB which is a Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) type. It is a non-volatile memory and does not depend on a back-up battery to retain its contents. This memory is pre-allocated for 737 instruction words and 437 data words.
