About 1761-L32BWA

The Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controller with part number 1761-L32BWA is a discontinued MicroLogix 1000 controller. This compact controller features a compact assembly with integrated components such as power supply, Input and Output channels, Communication port and memory. The power supply input requirement of this controller is 120-240VAC with acceptable operating voltage range of 85-264VAC. The embedded I/O channels are include Twenty (20) 24VDC discrete inputs with IN-state Voltage of 20.4-26.4 VDC, One (1) High-Speed input that operates at switching frequency of 6.6 kHz along a typical ON-state voltage with the standard input channels. It also has Twelve (12) Relay output channels that may be operated at 24-125VDC or 120/240VAC voltage. This contact output channels have individual common terminals which essentially make every channel individually isolated. The contact outputs also has higher continuous current capacity that varies according to the operating voltage. The internal memory of this controller is an Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) amounting to 1KB with an allocation of approximately 737 instruction words and 437 data words. With this memory type, a battery back-up is not required to retain the memory contents. However, a similar function may be achieved with the use of the MicroLogix 1000 Hand-Held Programmer with part number 1761-HHP-B30 and a memory module installed to it. The 1761-L32BWA although discontinued, is still capable of communicating with Allen-BradleyÕs modern PanelView Operator Terminals such as PanelView 800, PanelView Plus, PanelView Plus 5000 graphic terminals. This devices communicate through RS232 using 1761-CBL-PM02 or 1761-CBL-HM02 or via a communication network such as DeviceNet, DH485 and Ethernet. To allow the MicroLogix 1761-L32BWA communicate with DeviceNet, DH485 and Ethernet IP networks, advanced interface converters may be installed and connected to the RS232 port of the controller. Specifically, these interface converters are 1761-NET-AIC for DH485, 1761-NET-DNI for DeviceNet and 1761-NET-ENI or 1761-NET-ENIW for Ethernet I/P protocol. These protocol converters support master/slave and peer-to-peer data exchange, Remote I/O implementation and other important functionalities. This controller is OPC compliant and supports configuration of specific OPC driver via the RSLinx communication driver. The 1761-L32BWA is designed to last for up to 50,000 power cycles. It is designed to be operated in an environment with operating temperature of 0 - 55 Deg. Celsius for Horizontal mounting and 0 - 45 Deg. Celsius for Vertical mounting.
The Allen-Bradley 1761-L32BWA is a MicroLogix 1000 Controller. This controller is designed for Power Supply input voltage of 120/240 VAC with embedded Twenty (20) 24VDC discrete inputs, One (1) High-Speed input, and Twelve (12) Relay output channel. This controller has One (1) RS232 8-Pin mini DIN communication port that supports DF1 protocol.

F.A.Q for 1761-L32BWA

Q: 1. Can I use a memory module for additional memory and convenient program transport mechanism?A: No, this controller does not support a memory module however, a Hand-Held Programmer with a memory module may be used to serve this functionality.
Q: 2. Can I use this controller with the newer Allen-Bradley products such as PanelView 800?A: Yes, this controller is definitely capable of communicating with the PanelView 800.
Q: 3. Is this controller an active Allen-Bradley product?A: No, this controller including the entire MicroLogix 1000 are discontinued. Appropriate migration platform is Micro 800 PACs.

PDFsupply Tech

The 1761-L32BWA is a discrete control capable MicroLogix 1000 Controller. This controller through the 32 discrete input and output channels, is capable of controlling small application. It belongs to the MicroLogix controller models with the highest number of I/O channels, having 20 Discrete Inputs and 12 Relay outputs. One primary advantage of this controller is that the output channels can be operated with any voltage category particularly 24-125VDC or 120-240VAC.
