About 1761-L16NWB

The 1761-L16NWB is a MicroLogix 1000 controller that is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This controller is a cost-effective solution for small scale automation requirements, specifically designed for machine control. This control features an integrated Ten (10) 24VDC or 18-26.4 VAC or 18-30VAC discrete inputs, and Six (6) Relay output channels. It also powered by a 24VDc input supply and an embedded One (1) RS232 communication port. The input channels are provided with adjustable filters to increase response time and improve noise rejection such as signal bounces or signal fluctuation. This eliminates the event of false triggering. The input and output commons are individually provided to support sinking and sourcing configuration for inputs and isolation for output channels. It has a processing speed of 1.5ms for a 500-instruction program. The embedded RS232 communication channel permits connection to Human Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), programming workstation and Hand-Held Programmers (HHP). This communication interface support the Allen-Bradley Proprietary DF1 protocol, configurable for Full and Half Duplex operation. RTU slave is supported when the communication channel is configured as DF1 half-duplex where up to 254 slave nodes may be communicated with a master device through radio, leased-line modems or satellite uplink. With the use of DeviceNet Advance Interface Converter with part number 1761-NET-AIC, the controller may be connected to DH485 network. Up to 32 controllers may be connected to the network for peer-to-peer messaging. This controller is provided with 1KB memory allocated for approximately 737 instruction words and 437 data words. This memory type is an Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) that retains the user program and data without the need of a back-up battery. This prevents unplanned shutdown due to sudden deletion of program as the EEPROM memory is basically a non-volatile memory. The embedded communication channel supports use of 1761-NET-DNI which is a DeviceNet adapter, for use in peer-to-peer messaging and slave I/O, 1761-NET-ENI or 1761-NET-ENIW for use with Ethernet I/P network. The 1761-L16NWB supports programming instructions such as Basic instructions such as Examine if On, Examine if Off, Data Comparison instructions such as Equal, Greater than or Equal, Less than or Equal, Data Manipulation instructions such as Copy, Move, Math instructions such as Add, Subtract, Multiply, Program Flow Control instructions including Jump, Subroutine, Application Specific instructions specifically Programmable Limit Switch, and Sequencer. this controller supports 512 internal bits, 40 timers, 32 counters, 16 control files, 105 integer files, 33 diagnostic status. This controller is carries agency certifications such as CE, C-Tick, UL, and C-UL. (including Class I, Division 2, Hazardous Location). It supports Horizontal and Vertical mounting, with the use of a DIN rail or direct installation to a mounting plate via the provided mounting screws. This controller can last up to 50,000 power cycles. Maintain Two (2) inches clearance on all sides of the controller to maintain proper air flow and promote natural cooling. Additional climate control components may also be installed, depending on the installation location.
The Allen-Bradley 1761-L16NWB is a MicroLogix 1000 Controller. This controller is designed for Power Supply input voltage of 24VDC with embedded Ten (10) 24VDC or 18-26.4 VAC or 18-30VAC discrete inputs, and Six (6) Relay output channel. This controller has One (1) RS232 8-Pin mini DIN communication port that supports DF1, MODBUS slave protocol.

F.A.Q for 1761-L16NWB

Q: 1. Can I use the Master Control Relay as disconnect switch to power OFF the controller?A: No, the Master Control Relay is intended to disconnect the I/O devices, not to power OFF the controller.
Q: 2. What battery is needed to retain the user program?A: This controller does not require a battery to retain the user program.
Q: 3. What is the required mounting clearance when installing this controller?A: Two (2) inches is the required mounting clearance. This is to ensure adequate air flow.
