About 1761-L16NWA

The MicroLogix 1000 with part number 1761-L16NWA is manufactured by Allen-Bradley that is especially designed to automate small applications such as machine automation. This controller though compact in form, features the capability to connect to Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) such as PanelView Operator Terminals, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) such as Factory TalkView Visualization and Control Systems. Connection to computer-based control systems is established via the embedded 8-Pin mini DIN port which supports the Allen-Bradley proprietary DF1 protocol which may be operated in Half Duplex or Full Duplex operation. This same port may also be used as connection port to allow download and upload of user program and data by programming workstations and MicroLogix 1000 Hand-Held Programmer with part number 1761-HHP-B30. This controller has a Ten (10) input channels through its selectable operating voltage category. It may be wired with an input device providing 24VDC, 120 / 240VAC voltage signals. Operating voltage categories include 20.4-26.4VDC and 85-264VAC. The relay output channels feature Six (6) Form A contacts operating at a voltage range of 24/125 VDC or 120/240VAC. This memory is an EEPROM type memory which is battery back-up independent and cannot be easily erased. It may only be cleared by applying a specific voltage to the input pins of the EEPROM memory chip. Alternative programming terminal used for this controller is the MicroLogix 1000 Hand-Held Programmer with Part number 1761-HHP-B30. This controller shares the same instruction library as the SLC 500 Controller Product Family. The SLC 500 product family features capability to control small to large applications. This controller supports basic Boolean and binary instructions, Comparison, math, Data Handling, Flow Control, Application specific and messaging instructions. Within the controller, data files are provided such as Input data files for physical input devices, Output for physical output devices, Integer for non-decimal numbers, Floating-Point for real number formats, Binary for memory bits, Timer for Timer parameters, Counter for counter configuration, and Control data files for complex instructions such as PID. This controller has undergone tests that meets Council Directive 89/336/EEC, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and other standards, in whole or in part, specified within EN 50081-2 EMC Ð Generic Emission Standard, Part 2 Ð Industrial Environment, EN 50082-2 EMC Ð Generic Immunity Standard, Part 2 Ð Industrial Environment. Additionally, it meets Low Voltage Directive such as 73/23/EEC Low Voltage, by applying the safety requirements of EN 61131Ð2 Programmable Controllers, Part 2 Ð Equipment Requirements and Tests. This controller is provided with a Master Control Relay (MCR) that may be used as emergency controller shutdown.
The Allen-Bradley 1761-L16NWA is a MicroLogix 1000 Controller. This controller is designed for Power Supply input voltage of 120/240 VAC with embedded Ten (10) 24VDC or 18-26.4 VAC or 18-30VAC discrete inputs, and Six (6) Relay output channel. This controller has One (1) RS232 8-Pin mini DIN communication port that supports DF1, MODBUS slave protocol.

F.A.Q for 1761-L16NWA

Q: 1. Does this controller require a specific rack for installation to panel? A: No, the 1761-L16NWA may be installed using a standard DIN Rail or directly to a mounting plate.
Q: 2. Does this controller include a High-speed input channel?A: No, MicroLogix 1000 with dedicated 24VDC input channels support high-speed inputs.
Q: 3. Can I use a fabricated cable in place of 1761-CBL-PM02 or 1761-CBL-HM02A: Yes, the cable pinout must be strictly followed to build a fabricated cable.

PDFsupply Tech

The 1761-L16NWA is a MicroLogix controller that requires 120/240VAC power supply input. This controller has a selectable input channel voltage, compatible for 24VDC or 120/240VAC operation. This provides flexibility to the type of input that can be directly wired to the device, unlike controller with fixed voltage inputs such as 1761-L16BWA. Other aspects of this controllers functions similarly with other controllers.
