The Allen-Bradley 1761-L16BWB is an IEC-61131-3 compliant Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that belongs to the MicroLogix 1000 product family. This PLC is specifically designed to be used in micro and small-scale applications in the Factory and Process Industry. This controller is a non-expandable controller, fixed-style hardware that is provided with built-in power supply, Input and output channels, programmable memory and a communication interface. This module is ideal for installation in the factory floor level and partnered with Allen-Bradley PanelView terminals and Visualization systems however, it maintains openness that allows it to be integrated with 3rd party and non-AB products. This controller is programmed using Ladder programming language, one of the standard programming languages specified by the IEC-61131-3 standard. A portable Hand-Held terminal may also be used to create, edit, test, monitor and troubleshoot the device by way of the MicroLogix 1000 Hand-Held Programmed with part number 1761-HHP-B30. Main features of this controller include an integrated non-volatile memory with size of 1KB. This non-volatile memory is an Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) which can retain the user program and data without the need of a back-up battery. The composition of this memory includes approximately 737 instruction words and 437 data words. There are Ten (10) 24VDC input channels, that may be wired insinking and sourcing configuration. This are standard inputs with an ON voltage range of voltage range of 14 - 26.4V DC max @ 55 ¡C (131 ¡F) or 14 - 30.0VDC max @ 30 ¡C (86 ¡F). It also has a single High-speed channel that is compatible with devices having a switching frequency not more 6.6 kHz. These input channels are provided with individually adjustable input filters which permits fine tuning of operation by limiting the effect of noise, fluctuation, bounce. There are also Six (6) relay output channels that may be operated in voltage categories of 24-125VDC and 120-240VDC. The main advantage of relay outputs is that consideration of the electrical loadÕs operating voltage is a non-factor due to the fact that the contact outputs are dry, Normally Open (N.O.) contacts. It can allow passage of DC or AC voltage thus it can energize almost any electrical loads except high voltage loads. It also provides isolation and may be considered as the interposing relay itself. Integrate Human Machin Interfaces (HMI) or Supervisory Control and Data Acquistion (SCADA) to this controller via the integrated RS232 communication port. This port support DF1 protocol, in half or full duplex operation. Additionally, this communication port is also compatible for use with encompass partner devices, 3rd party modules such as protocol converter or gateways even, OPC servers. It is recommended to use a prefabricated cable with part number 1761-CBL-PM02 or 1761-CBL-HM0.
