About 1761-L16BWA

The Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1000 with part number 1761-L16BWA is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that is ideal for use in small scale automation application in the Factory or Process industry. MicroLogix 1000 are compact controllers designed with integrated Power Supply, communication terminal, embedded I/O channels and internal memory. This controller requires an input voltage of 24VDC with acceptable operating voltage of 85-264VAC. The embedded I/O channels are embedded with Ten (10) 24VDC discrete inputs, One (1) High-Speed input, and Six (6) Relay output channels. The integrated memory amount is an EEPROM memory type amounting to 1KB memory composed of approximately 737 instruction words and 437 data words. This memory is a non-volatile type which does not depend on a back-up battery to retain the user program and data. Therefore, the MicroLogix 1000 shares the library of the SLC 500 family while having a compact form. Alternative programming terminal used for this controller is the MicroLogix 1000 Hand-Held Programmer with Part number 1761-HHP-B30. The 1761-L16BWA though compact in form, conform to industrial standards. This controller carries certification such C-UL Class I, Division 2 Groups A, B, C, D certified, UL listed (Class I, Division 2 Groups A, B, C, D certified), and CE marked for all applicable directives. This controller can last up to 50,000 Power cycles. It is designed to be operated in an environment with operating temperature of 0 - 55 Deg. Celsius for Horizontal mounting and 0 - 45 Deg. Celsius for Vertical mounting. Install this controller using a standard DIN rail or direct to a mounting plate via the provided mounting screws. It. Mechanical considerations such as vibration rating of 5 Hz to 2k Hz, 0.381 mm (0.015 in.) peak to peak/2.5g panel mounted, 1hr per axis and shock rating of 5 Hz to 2k Hz, 0.762 mm (0.030 in.) peak to peak/5g, 1hr per axis must be observed to maximize the controllerÕs lifespan. The RS232 communication port uses a pre-fabricated cable of 1761-CBL-PM02 or 1761-CBL-HM02 which may also be made independently following the pinouts of the specified cable. This RS232 communication supports DF1 Full Duplex and DF1 Half Duplex slave. DH485 protocol is supported is also supported provided that the controllers belong to the Series C or later revisions. This however, requires the use of Allen-Bradley Advanced Interface Converter (AIC) such as 1761-NET-AIC. This controller supports communication with a personal computer or workstation for programming of the device, Human Machine Interface (HMI) or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) for computer based control with modern visualization, 3rd party converters and gateways, OPC servers and databases.
The Allen-Bradley 1761-L16BWA is a MicroLogix 1000 Controller. This controller is designed for Power Supply input voltage of 120/240 VAC with embedded Ten (10) 24VDC discrete inputs, One (1) High-Speed input, and Six (6) Relay output channel. This controller has One (1) RS232 8-Pin mini DIN communication port that supports DF1, MODBUS slave protocol.

F.A.Q for 1761-L16BWA

Q: 1. Does this control use a battery to retain user program? A: No, the memory is an EEPROM type which is a non-volatile memory.
Q: 2. Can I use Compact I/O modules to expand the I/O density of the controller?A: No, the MicroLogix 1000 controllers are of fixed hardware style.
Q: 3. Does this controller support Allen-BradleyÕs 1761-NET-AIC Advanced Interface Converter (AIC)?A: Yes, is supports the said converter to allow connection to DH485 network.

PDFsupply Tech

The 1761-L16BWA is a 24VDC MicroLogix Controller. All DC powered MicroLogix controllers are provided with a single High-Speed input channel that is compatible for integrating high speed sensors and totalizers. This is the main difference compared to the 1761-L16AWA as the latter part number does not include a high-speed input.
