About MVI94-DNP
The Allen-Bradley MVI94-DNP module is a Flex I/O series Prosoft communication module that uses the Ethernet network to communicate with other devices in an industrial environment. The MVI94-DNP module comes with a serial adapter cable, a Flex I/O base, and with 3 jumpers that are installed on it. This module can be mounted on a DIN rail. The 3 jumpers that come with the MVI94-DNP communication module are installed on the bottom of the module and they can be used to configure the module for the applications that it is intended to use. The Flex I/O base for this module has a keyswitch that ensures that the module will be connected securely to it and that prevents the wrong kinds of modules from being installed on it. To install the MVI94-DNP communication module on its base, turn the keyswitch on the base to position 1.
The Allen-Bradley Flex I/O MVI94-DNP Prosoft communication module stores its configuration data in its flash memory and it uses this data to control the Distributed Network Protocol when it starts up. It comes with several LEDs that show the users updates about the module and its components, such as whether everything is powered on and functioning properly or whether there have been any errors or power failures.
