About MVI94-ADM
The Allen-Bradley MVI94-ADM communication module is a Modbus module that can operate as either a master device or a slave device. The MVI94-ADM Modbus communication module allows devices from the Allen-Bradley Flex I/O series to interface with other devices that are Modbus-compatible. This module functions as the options module which is the link between the Flex I/O backplane and the Modbus network. The devices that are compatible with the MVI94-ADM Modbus communication module include a variety of SCADA packages, the Modicon PLCs, and several different process and control devices that are available from many manufacturers. The users can define how the memory that comes with the MVI94-ADM Modbus communication module will be used in their applications.
The Allen-Bradley MVI94-ADM Modbus master/slave communication module can store or transfer as many as 5000 registers to or from the data files in a Flex I/O processor. It can also handle floating point data transactions through the Enron version of the Modbus communication protocol. This module can be set up and monitored through its Debug port and through the user configuration file and it uses simple ladder logic to control many of its operations. The MVI94-ADM Modbus master/slave communication module can be installed in any single slot in an Allen-Bradley Flex I/O 1794 backplane. It needs an external power supply that can give it 12 to 24 Volts DC voltage and 340 to 170 milliamps of current. This module can operate in a temperature range from 32 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit and when it is not in use, it can be stored in a temperature range from -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit.
The MVI94-ADM Modbus module can be used as a master communication module or as a slave communication module in different applications. It is manufactured by Allen-Bradley and it operates with DC power.
