The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 3170-MBS slave adapter is a Modbus slave adapter for the Allen-Bradley Flex I/O series devices. It is a network interface adapter that can act as the interface between any kind of Modbus master devices and as many as 8 Allen-Bradley Flex I/O modules or Integra series modules. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 3170-MBS Modbus slave adapter module is commonly used as an interface between the master module and a foreign device or as a SCADA slave device. When it is used in SCADA slave applications in gas, oil, and wastewater treatment applications, the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 3170-MBS Modbus slave adapter module, it can be installed and used remotely in remote controller racks for safety.
The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 3170-MBS Modbus slave adapter module can also be used in a multi-drop configuration with an RS-485 link that connects it to other compatible Modbus devices.
