The 1794-TB3 Terminal Base is a Flex I/O terminal base manufactured as part of the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation Flex I/O 1794 product line. This terminal base features 3-wire screw and cage clamp terminations and is approved for use in environments with the European Hazardous Location approval rating. The 1794-TB3 Flex I/O Terminal Base supports 16 I/O wiring connections with 18 commons and a voltage rating of 18 Volts with its terminations. This unit is used in applications with a voltage rating of 132 Volts AC or 156 Volts DC and a current capacity of 10 Amps maximum. This Allen-Bradley terminal base features an open style enclosure and a terminal screw torque of 0.79 to 1.02 N-m, and it works with wire sizes of 0.34 to 2.1 square millimeters or 22 to 14 AWG (solid and stranded copper wire are both supported) with temperature ratings of 75 degrees Celsius and above and a maximum insulation thickness of 1.2 millimeters or 3/64 inches.
The Allen-Bradley Flex I/O 1794-TB3 Terminal Base can be plugged into or connected to different terminal base units to form a large-scale controller backplane. It can also connect to the input and output field and bus devices. This terminal base snaps easily and securely onto the DIN rail on the right side of the input and output adapter, and the I/O adapter module can be plugged into the last terminal base in the sequence. Every terminal base comes with a backplane connection between the input and output adapter modules and between the I/O modules and the terminal connection points for the input and output wiring. The 1794-TB3 Terminal Base also allows for the removal and insertion of modules under power, and this feature is also known as the RIUP feature.
