About 1794-OW8K
The 1794-OW8K module is an 8-point relay output module manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation as part of the Flex I/O 1794 product line. This unit is engineered for use with a terminal bus supply system, and with the terminal base units that are also found in Flex I/O 1794 series. The 1794-OW8K relay output module is certified and approved for operation in hazardous locations, and it is also compliant with environmental standards for harmful gas immunity. This module is intended to be installed on the Flex I/O 1794-TB3, 1794-TBNF, 1794-TBN, 1794-TB3, or 1794-TB3S terminal bases. When these terminal bases are used, the keyswitch position should be Position 9 to accept this 8-point relay output module. It comes with power ratings of 24 Volts DC and 125 milliamps and the power is supplied from a Flexbus module. The output module is made to be grounded with a DIN rail. The electromechanical relays on the module have an AC voltage rating of 250 Volts AC, a current rating of 2 Amps, and a frequency rating 50 to 60 Hertz as well as a DC voltage range of 5 to 30 Volts DC, with a current rating of 2 Amps.
The Allen-Bradley Flex I/O 1794-OW8K relay output module's electromechanical design allows for it to be safely inserted or removed while it is still connected to the power source because it has no direct wiring. This module helps to save installation time and restarting time for the entire system because of this feature. As a Flex I/O distributed system module, the 1794-OW8K relay output module allows for the exchange of data and instructions through the EtherNet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, or Universal Remote input and output communication protocols. The 1794-OW8K relay output module has a switching frequency of about 0.3 Hertz at a rate of 1 operation every 3 seconds. It is recommended that the output fusing on the module be done with slow-blow fuses rated at 3 Amps and 250 Volts AC.
The Allen-Bradley 1794-OW8K relay output module features 8 relay outputs with an off-state leakage current of 1.0 milliamp through a snubber circuit. It runs with a bounce time of 1.2 milliseconds.
