The 1794-OE4K module is a 4-channel I/O module which is conformally coated to meet noxious gas safety requirements according to the ISA / ANSI-71.040 1985 Class G3 environmental standards. The 1794-OE4K module is an output module from Allen-Bradley which contains solid state components and which is sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). To prevent damage to the module from ESD, Allen-Bradley recommends working in static-safe areas, not touching the circuit components, using a grounded wrist strap, and touching a grounded object prior to working on the module to discharge static. To prevent the occurrence of electrical arc, the 1794-OE4K module should only be installed or removed when the system power supply is off when it is being installed or removed in hazardous locations. A zinc plated steel DIN rail should be used for the mounting of the module to ensure proper grounding.
