The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1794-IRT8XT FLEX I/O Thermocouple/RTD Input Analog Module is an intelligent analog input module from the Allen-Bradley Flex I/O series that is designed to interface analog signals with the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation PLCs through the FLEX I/O Bus. The Allen-Bradley Flex I/O system is a line of small, modular I/O devices that are designed for distributed applications that can perform all the functions of any rack-based I/O system. Every standard Flex I/O system comprises a terminal base for all of the field-side wiring, a power supply that provides power for all the logic operations, an adapter that transfers read and write configuration data to and from the I/O module, and any combination of 8 I/O modules.
The 1794-IRT8XT FLEX I/O Thermocouple/RTD Input Analog Module offers 8 non-isolated thermocouple or RTD inputs that accept millivolt or resistive input data, and they can be selected with analog multiplexers. The 1794-IRT8XT FLEX I/O Thermocouple/RTD Input Analog Module is designed for extended temperature measurement applications. It receives analog temperature and millivolt inputs and converts them to binary format data before transmitting these data to the controller via the adapter. The 1794-IRT8XT FLEX I/O Thermocouple/RTD Input Analog Module supports the following thermocouple and RTD types; the B, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, and T-type thermocouples and the 100 to 200 Ohms Platinum (PT) or 10 to 200 Ohms copper/nickel RTDs. The 1794-IRT8XT FLEX I/O Thermocouple/RTD Input Analog Module supports a 24 Volts DC external DC power supply, and it has a maximum current rating of 95 milliamps at 24 Volts DC.
