The Allen-Bradley 1794-IRT8K Flex I/O Thermocouple/RTD Input Analog Module is a conformally-coated analog input module that is made for the Allen-Bradley Flex I/O distributed I/O system. The Flex I/O distributed I/O system offers a wide range of cost-effective modular I/O systems for all industrial applications because it offers all the major features of a rack-based I/O system. A standard Flex I/O system consists of a flexible terminal base unit for simplified field-side wiring, a power supply that provides power for the internal logic operations, and any combination of 8 I/O modules. The 1794-IRT8K Flex I/O Thermocouple/RTD Input Analog Module has a conformal coating that provides extra protection against environmental wear and caustic substances. The 1794-IRT8K Flex I/O Thermocouple/RTD Input Analog Module provides 8 non-isolated high-reliability and high-speed thermocouple or RTD inputs that accept input signals between -40 and 100 millivolts or 0 to 500 Ohms, and the signals can be elected using analog multiplexers.
The 1794-IRT8K Flex I/O Thermocouple/RTD Input Analog Module is shipped with 2 cold junction compensators (catalog number 1794-CJC2) that provide temperature measurement compensation on the inputs when the module is in the thermocouple mode. The 1794-IRT8K Flex I/O Thermocouple/RTD Input Analog Module supports the T, S, R, N, L, K, J, E, and B-Type thermocouples as well as platinum, nickel, and copper RTDs. The 1794-IRT8K Flex I/O Thermocouple/RTD Input Analog Module transmits the analog signals in degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit that it receives from input devices as binary data to a processor after conversion. The 1794-IRT8K Flex I/O Thermocouple/RTD Input Analog Module requires an external 24 Volts DC rated power supply. This power supply provides a 19.2 to 32 Volts DC operating voltage range and 95 milliamps of maximum supply current.
