About 1794-IE8H
The 1794-IE8H analog module is a HART analog module from the Allen-Bradley Flex I/O series. The 1794-IE8H module is also an input module that features 8 inputs which are all analog. None of the inputs are isolated and they can all handle current in either a range of 4 to 20 milliamps or 0 to 20 milliamps. The 0 to 20 milliamps current range is the default current range. All of the inputs on the 1794-IE8H analog input module have filters. More specifically, each input has a fixed hardware filter and a selectable digital filter. The 1794-IE8H module must be used in either an Ethernet network or a Controlnet network. Additional features on the module include local microprocessor intelligence, the ability to function completely without jumpers or switches, and support for multiple data ranges that the users can independently program.
The Allen-Bradley Flex I/O 1794-IE8H HART analog input module needs 24 Volts DC power from an external source in order to power up. Once the input module has been configured, it will begin to produce and send runtime data to the PLC processor that it is connected to. This module can send out 4 different kinds of alarms which are the overrange alarm, underrange alarm, local fault alarm, and the remote fault alarm.
