The 1794-ID2 encoder module is a Flex I/O channel incremental encoder module manufactured by Allen-Bradley. The increments encoder is used for high-speed scaling operations in the industrial sector. It interfaces with a Flex I/O adapter which in turn communicates with a controller processor. This Series B module mounts on a terminal base like the TB3 and TB3S terminal base models. It has 2 pulse transmitter interfaces and 4 optocoupled inputs per interface. The input voltage rating of the module is 24 Volts DC. The input current ratings of the module are 3 milliamps, 9 milliamps, and 12 milliamps. The isolation voltage rating is 500 Volts DC for a time period of 1 second. The Flexbus current rating of the module is 5 milliamps with 5 Volts DC supply voltage. It dissipates a total of 5 Watts of power and it is rated for 17.1 BTU per hour of thermal dissipation.
The front side of the Allen-Bradley Flex I/O 1794-ID2 encoder module comes with LED indicators that glow red and yellow colors for field side status updates.
