The Allen-Bradley 1794-ADN adapter is a DeviceNet adapter module which is part of the 1794 Flex I/O product line. The data rates supported by the adapter include 128 kbps, 250 kbps, and 500 kbps. There are 3 indicators on the adapter including a I/O status indicator, a ModNet status indicator, and a power indicator. The communication interface on the adapter is a DeviceNet open-style 5-pin or 10-pin linear plug. The DeviceNet power requirements of the 1794-ADN adapter are 24 Volts DC with 4% allowable tolerance and 90 milliamps of input current. The power supply to the adapter must be capable of providing a turn-on inrush surge current of 14 Amps for a duration of 5 milliseconds for each communication adapter which is connected to the power supply.
The 1794-ADN adapter’s nominal input voltage is 24 Volts DC. The adapter draws a maximum of 400 milliamps current and the typical current draw is 300 milliamps at 24 Volts DC. The output current for FlexBus output is 640 milliamps at 5 Volts DC. The adapter has been type tested at 1930 Volts DC for 60 seconds for the power to FlexBus, DeviceNet to FlexBus, and power to DeviceNet isolation, respectively. The peak power dissipation of the adapter is 7.6 Watts at 19.2 Volts DC. The rated thermal dissipation is 26 BTU per hour at 19.2 Volts DC. For power connections to the 1794-ADN adapter, 22 to 12 AWG solid or stranded copper wire rated for 75 degrees Celsius should be used. The wire should have maximum insulation of 1.2 millimeters. The weight of the 1794-ADN adapter is 195.5 grams.
The 1794-ADN adapter is an Allen-Bradley 1794 Flex I/O DeviceNet adapter. The adapter measures 87 x 68 x 69 millimeters and it weighs 195.5 grams.
