The industrial modules from the Allen-Bradley Flex 5000 module series include both standard modules and safety modules and they are designed to be used with the Logix 5000 controllers. The Logix 5000 controllers connect to and communicate with the Flex 5000 modules through the Ethernet/IP network. Both the standard and safety Flex 5000 modules are I/O modules, and they can be connected to terminal bases that host all of the connections for their field-side wiring. One of the advantages of using Flex 5000 I/O modules in a control system is that they can be controlled remotely, which means that they can be used in locations that are difficult to access or that are potentially dangerous for the users to work in for extended periods of time.
In a Logix 5000 control system, safety Flex 5000 I/O modules must always be used with safety controllers, but standard Flex 5000 I/O modules can be used with safety controllers and with standard controllers. These modules and controllers can be secured with password protection to ensure that no one has unauthorized access to sensitive data and operations and to prevent errors or unexpected operations. The Flex 5000 standard and safety I/O modules are available with AC or DC power and different numbers of I/O points. The I/O points can be sinking or sourcing I/O points. A complete Flex 5000 system includes an adapter that transfers configuration data to and from the I/O modules, a terminal base to host the I/O modules and their field wiring, 1 or more I/O modules to handle the controller’s applications, and an end cap to keep dust off of the last I/O module in the sequence.
5094-AEN2SFPRXT | The Allen-Bradley FLEX 5000 5094-AEN2SFPRXT adapter module communicates through the Ethernet/IP network. It has the capacity to support 16 I/O modules in 1 system. | Buy Now |
