About 5094-IB16
The 5094-IB16 I/O module is an Allen-Bradley input module from the FLEX 5000 series. It is used by an Allen-Bradley Logix system to control different industrial devices. The 5094-IB16 input module communicates with the other devices that it controls through the Ethernet/IP network. This input module is a standard module rather than a safety module. Its input points are sinking inputs and it has 16 inputs in total. The voltage rating for the inputs is from 18 to 32 Volts DC. The 5094-IB16 input module has status indicators for each of the input points and for the module as a whole and its communication that let the users know if there are any system errors and which parts of the system are currently active and powered up.
The Allen-Bradley 5094-IB16 FLEX 5000 input module is easy to mount on a compatible terminal base, and it is also easy to dismount because of its release lever and because most of its wiring is attached to the base and this wiring does not need to be disconnected for the input module to be disconnected. In a Logix 5000 controller system, the 5094-IB16 input module is controlled or “owned” by a module that is known as an owner-controller module which stores the configuration data for the input module and every other module in the system that it owns and that uses this configuration data to define the functions and behavior of all the modules that it controls. The owner-controller module can be installed in a different location than the 5094-IB16 input module and it can own and control it remotely.
