The 5094-AEN2TRXT adapter from Allen-Bradley is a FLEX 5000 series adapter module that comes with an RJ-45 communication port. This adapter module can adapt to and support 16 FLEX 5000 series I/O modules at a time in a single FLEX 5000 controller system. The 5094-AEN2TRXT adapter module communicates with the Ethernet/IP network. This adapter module comes with an end cap that should not be discarded, especially if the 5094-AEN2TRXT adapter module is installed at the end of the sequence of devices in the setup. When the 5094-AEN2TRXT adapter module is installed at the end of the sequence on the DIN rail, it has exposed connection points. Using the end cap to cover these connection points is essential to prevent debris from entering the adapter and to prevent electric shock.
The Allen-Bradley FLEX 5000 5094-AEN2TRXT adapter module with an RJ-45 communication port uses the Allen-Bradley 1606-XLE80E power supply module as its external power source. It is recommended to use a different power supply for the terminal base of the 5094-AEN2TRXT adapter module instead of running them both on the power from the 1606-XLE80E power supply module because using 1 power supply for both devices can cause both devices to experience errors if their common power supply fails and because using 1 power supply for 2 devices can cause unexpected and unwanted operations. The 5094-AEN2TRXT adapter module can take a shock of up to 30 g during operation and the maximum air temperature that it can tolerate is 70 degrees Celsius or 158 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Allen-Bradley 5094-AEN2TRXT FLEX 5000 adapter module supports 16 I/O modules and uses the Ethernet/IP network. It can be configured with the Studio 5000 Logix Designer application software.
