The 1797-RPA adapter from Allen-Bradley is an industrial repeater adapter module for devices in the Flex Ex I/O series. The 1797-RPA repeater adapter module is compatible with the ControlNet Ex network. It can work with 2 different devices at a time if it is used with the Allen-Bradley 1797-RPFM ControlNet Ex fiber repeater module. It has 2 communication ports and it can be mounted on a grounded DIN rail. Its mounting dimensions are 3.7 x 3.6 x 3.4 inches. The 1797-RPA repeater adapter module is designed to be durable, and if it becomes damaged, it cannot be repaired in the field and it must either be sent back to the factory for repairs or completely replaced. It has LED indicators on the front panel for the power and for both of the communication ports.
The Allen-Bradley 1797-RPA repeater adapter module needs a coax trunk cable in order to operate properly. It should only be applied with intrinsically safe signals or it will not operate properly.
