The 1786-RPCD module from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation is a repeater module. This repeater module is manufactured as part of the Allen-Bradley ControlNet Accessories series and it is designed to be a key component in ControlNet coax media systems. The 1786-RPCD repeater module is a coax type of repeater module that can be used to repeat coax signals on a network in an industrial setting. The backplane current draw rating for the 1786-RPCD repeater module is rated at 400 milliamps. The 1786-RPCD repeater module can be installed in a ControlNet coax media system that uses the point-to-point or bus/trunk line topology where 1 fiber module transmits to another fiber module in the system. It does not need to have a node installed on it in order to operate. All it needs is a 75-Ohm terminator if it is not connected to a coax segment.
The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation ControlNet Accessories 1786-RPCD repeater module can also be used to achieve media redundancy or module redundancy in a ControlNet coax media system. Media redundancy can be used with either the linear bus network topology or the ring bus network topology. It cannot be used with both topologies at the same time, however, and each topology has its own advantages and disadvantages that will affect the whole system. The 1786-RPCD repeater module can be installed on a DIN rail. If it is installed on a DIN rail, it should never be installed to the right of a 1786-RPFRL/B fiber repeater module or to the right of a 1786-RPFRXL/B fiber repeater module or else it will not function properly. Instead, the 1786-RPCD repeater module should be installed to the left of these fiber repeater modules.
