About 1786-RPTD
The 1786-RPTD module is an Allen-Bradley ControlNet repeater module for coaxial media. The repeater module is powered with a 24 Volts DC removable power supply. The repeater helps to extend the network and it helps with network media conversion between copper and fiber media. It is possible to connect 20 repeaters in a series to extend the network. The repeater is also used for configuring the time of the ControlNet network data. The 1786-RPTD repeater module comes with a removable terminal block attached to the adapter, one 75-Ohm terminator to terminate an unused port, and 2 DIN rail locks for mounting. The repeater can be mounted both horizontally and vertically. The repeater is positioned with the DIN rail at a 30-degree angle and the lip of the repeater is hooked on the top of the DIN rail and rotated until it locks into place.
The front of the 1786-RPTD repeater module has LED status indicators that can give status updates alone or together. The indicators show the power status, data transmission status, errors and faults, and the idle state of the repeater module. The repeater consumes a total of 16.8 Watts of power and dissipates 8.8 Watts of power during operation. The backplane output current rating of the module is 1.6 Amps with 5 Volts DC. For wiring and connection, the repeater uses 14 to 22 AWG solid or stranded copper wire rated at 75 degrees Celsius. The 1786-RPTD repeater module comes with an open enclosure and it is not water-resistant. It should be used for indoor purposes only. The operating environmental temperature should be set between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius with a relative humidity of 5 to 95%, non-condensing.
