The ControlNet Accessories are manufactured by Allen-Bradley as accessories and spare parts for devices in the Allen-Bradley ControlNet product line. Some of the accessories available from the ControlNet Accessories series include different kinds of repeater modules like short-distance fiber modules and medium distance fiber modules. These modules support different network topologies that allow different devices and controller systems to communicate. Different repeater modules can host different numbers of modules at a time. Fiber cables are another kind of ControlNet accessory that can be ordered and used to connect industrial devices. ControlNet Accessories work best in indoor industrial environments that are clean and non-hazardous, but heavy-duty accessories are also available for applications in outdoor settings or in environments with significant levels of debris, dust, and liquids.
A complete Allen-Bradley ControlNet coax media system can be put together from ControlNet Accessories. The exact ControlNet Accessories that are used in the coax media system will depend on the applications that the system is designed for and on the environment that it is installed in. The basic ControlNet Accessories that are used in standard ControlNet coax media systems include repeater modules, nodes, taps, links, bridges, and trunk cables and connectors. Different cables are available for applications at high temperatures, at low temperatures, in corrosive environments, or in applications that require a significant amount of cable flexing. This media system can work with PLCs, I/O modules, and HMI devices. If the ControlNet coax media system includes a section that uses the ControlNet IS network, all of the components in that section need to be IS-rated and there needs to be an isolation barrier installed because this part of the system is potentially explosive.
