The Allen-Bradley 1791-N4C2 Analog Block I/O Module is an analog block I/O module from the 1791 compact and self-sustaining Block I/O product line. This module features 4 user-configurable inputs and 2 factory-configured current outputs for the control of remotely connected I/O devices. The 1791-N4C2 Block I/O Module is compatible with the Allen-Bradley PLC-2, 3, 5/250, and 5 controllers and with the SLC-5/02 programmable controllers. It supports both block and discrete transfer with these controllers via the Remote I/O link. The 1791-N4C2 Block I/O Module has four 14-bit analog and independent user-selectable inputs per I/O block (+/-10 Volts DC, 0 to 20 milliamps, and +/-20 milliamps) that can be configured as either all voltage or all current inputs. Each input circuit has an absolute accuracy of about 0.1% at 25 degrees Celsius and a maximum signal update time of 108 milliseconds. Each input channel also has a maximum impedance rating of 10 Megohms (voltage state) and 250 Ohms (current state) and linearity of about 0.05% at 25 degrees Celsius.
The Allen-Bradley 1791-N4C2 Block I/O Module has 2 factory-configured 13-bit analog outputs. Each analog block output is factory configured for either voltage or current output and does not support user configuration. Each output circuit has a 13-bit current range of 0 to 20 milliamps and with an output impedance that is over 1.0 Megohms. Each output also has a built-in short-circuit protection and a drive capability of 20 milliamps. Each 1791-N4C2 Block I/O Module output channel has an absolute accuracy of 0.1% at 25 degrees Celsius, with an overall drift accuracy of 75 PPM per degree Celsius, and a maximum signal update time of 10 milliseconds. The 1791-N4C2 Block I/O Module requires an external 85 to 132 Volts AC power supply (at 47 to 63 Hertz) that supplies 150 milliamps block current and a maximum power dissipation of 16.9 Watts.
