The Allen-Bradley 1791-IOBX Block I/O Module is a 24 Volts DC rated Block I/O module with 64 sinking inputs and 64 sourcing outputs. This module can communicate with the Allen-Bradley PLC-5, PLC-3, PLC-2, and SLC-500 controllers via the block and discrete transfer modes by using the Remote I/O network. The 1791-IOBX Block I/O Module is configured by using the 2 DIP switch assemblies that it comes with. An external 18 to 26.4 Volts DC power supply with 300 milliamps maximum current at 24 Volts DC and a surge current of 2.0 Amps is required to power up the module. The 1791-IOBX Block I/O Module has 64 sinking inputs that are arranged in 4 isolated groups of 16 channels each. The input circuits are not individually isolated from one another, but each input group has over 1500 Volts AC isolation between it and the other groups.
Every 1791-IOBX Block I/O Module input circuit has an on-state input voltage range of 12 to 26.4 Volts DC and a minimum on-state current rating of 1.56 milliamps. The 1791-IOBX Block I/O Module has an off-state input power rating of 1.0 milliamps, 7.0 Volts DC, and a maximum turn-on time of 10.0 milliseconds. The 1791-IOBX Block I/O Module also has 64 sourcing outputs that are arranged in 4 groups of 16 outputs each.
