The 1791-IOBW Block I/O Module is a 64-point I/O block module from the Allen-Bradley 1791 compact and self-sustaining Block I/O system. The 1791-IOBW Block I/O Module is compatible with the Allen-Bradley PLC-2, 3, 5, and SLC-500 programmable controllers, and it supports block and discrete transfer functions with these controllers by using the Remote I/O network. Unlike some of the 1791 series Block I/O modules, the 1791-IOBW Block I/O Module has a non-removable terminal block for the remote I/O link and external 24 Volts DC power wiring. The rack addressing and module configuration are achieved by using the 2 DIP switches provided. The 1791-IOBW Block I/O Module draws power from an external DC power source that supplies an 18 to 26.4 Volt DC operating voltage range, 100 milliamps of maximum current rating at 24 Volts DC, and a maximum current surge of 2 Amps for 10 milliseconds duration.
The 1791-IOBW Block I/O Module has a maximum power dissipation rating of 15.1 Watts and an operating ambient temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. The 1791-IOBW Block I/O Module has 32 non-isolated sinking input circuits arranged in 2 groups of 16 inputs each. The 1791-IOBW Block I/O Module has 1500 Volts AC group-to-group isolation for 1 second and 1500 Volts AC input to system isolation for 1 second.
