The Allen-Bradley 1791-8BR Discrete DC Block I/O Module is a compact and self-contained discrete I/O module with 8 input channels and 8 relay output circuits. The 1791-8BR Block I/O Module is compatible with the Allen-Bradley PLC-2/3/5 and the SLC-5/02 controllers, and it communicates with these controllers via a direct block transfer (specifically the PLC-3, -5, and 5/250 controllers), a 1747-SN remote I/O scanner (specifically the SLC-500 controllers), and via the 1771-SN sub I/O scanner or the 1772-SD remote I/O scanners. The 1791-8BR Block I/O Module draws power from an external power supply with internal protection (this eliminates the need for an external fuse), which supplies 19.2 to 30 Volts DC operating voltage and 300 milliamps of maximum current rating. The 1791-8BR Block I/O Module provides 8 isolated inputs in 1 group of 8 inputs per block.
These inputs have a 10 Volts DC to 30 Volts DC operating voltage range and an on-state current range of 3.2 milliamps to 11.0 milliamps.
