The Allen-Bradley 1791-8BC DC I/O Module is a 16-point discrete I/O module from the 1791 Block I/O module series. The Allen-Bradley 1791 Standard Block I/O modules are compact and self-contained remote I/O modules that are designed for monitoring and controlling I/O in a remote industrial location from the processor. A 1791 Standard Block I/O module comprises I/O circuitry, a built-in power supply, a remote I/O adapter, a programmable controller interface, and a signal conditioning circuit. The 1791-8BC I/O Module can be wired directly to the PLC-2, PLC-3, PLC-5/250, and PLC-5 series programmable logic controllers, and to the SLC-5/02 modular controllers.
The 1791-8BC I/O Module has 8 non-isolated inputs in a single group of all 8 points. Each input circuit has an operating voltage range of 10 to 30 Volts DC and a current range of 2.5 milliamps to 11.0 milliamps. Each input channel also has an off-state voltage rating 5.0 Volts DC and an off-state current rating of 1.5 milliamps.
