The Allen-Bradley 1791-24AR module is a Block I/O module that consists of a standard module with multiple functionalities that enable it to perform as a rack I/O, as an I/O module, and as a power supply all in a single unit. It has been designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation and included in the Block I/O series of modules. This specific model is an AC block module that comes with 24 inputs and 8 relay outputs. This Block I/O module can be connected to a remote I/O link like any other device. This block works like a 1/4 I/O rack to the processor and it uses 2 words of input memory. The inputs of the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1791-24AR Block I/O module convert AC and DC signals from the different devices connected to the module so it can match the logic level within the processor.
