The Allen-Bradley 1791-24A8 module is an AC-powered I/O module from the Allen-Bradley Block I/O product line. This module comes with 24 input channels and 8 output channels and the nominal voltage rating of the module is 120 Volts AC. The 24 I/O points on the 1791-24A8 module are all discrete I/O points. As a Block I/O series module, the 1791-24A8 input and output module is designed to be compact and it comes complete with a power supply, signal conditioning circuitry, and a programmable controller interface as well as with input and output points. It can tolerate a maximum non-fused surge current of 10 Amps for 50 milliseconds, and this is repeatable every 2 seconds.
