About 1791-16ac
The 1791-16AC block is a discrete I/O block that has been included in the 1791 series of blocks by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. This specific block can be used to connect different equipment to an existing PLC in a system. These blocks are small devices that come with their own power supply, programmable controller interface, and connections that enable it to be attached to input and output devices. These blocks are also able to connect to different signal conditioning circuitry. This discrete I/O block comes with 16 inputs and 16 outputs and it operates with an AC voltage of 120 Volts AC. The 1791-16AC discrete I/O block is compatible with the PLC-2, PLC-3, PLC-5, PLC-5/250, and SLC programmable controllers. Physically, the block is meant to be installed vertically and it comes with indicators for each channel.
