The 592-EC2AC is an E3 Plus solid-state overload relay device with internal ground fault sensing originating from Allen-Bradley’s Bulletin 592. The E3 Plus overload relays are a family of general-purpose, multifunction, microprocessor-based relay switches designed to protect single-phase or three-phase squirrel-cage induction motors. The Bulletin 592 overload relay is available in two configurations: one is E3 and the other one is E3 Plus, with the 592-EC2AC E3 plus overload Relay falling into the latter. The relay, like all E3 Plus overload relays, is designed to provide reliable ambient compensated overload protection. The DeviceNet-compatible 592-EC2AC E3 Plus overload relay can connect to the DeviceNet network for expanded functionality. In addition to various other built-in protective features, the 592-EC2AC relay has built-in ground fault sensing for zero sequence (core balance) ground fault protection, PTC thermistor monitoring, and underload protection. This overload relay, unlike other overload relays in its class, has a microprocessor-based overload setting for precise, accurate, and dependable protection. The 592-EC2AC comes with an adjustable current range of 1 to 5 amps and a maximum operating voltage rating of 690 volts AC, according to IEC. For Bulletin 500 contactors, the overload relay features a contactor size range of 0 to 2. There are four discrete inputs, two discrete outputs, and a PTC thermistor input on the 592-EC2AC E3 plus overload relay. The control circuit of this relay is rated at 24 volts DC, with an operational voltage range of 11 to 25 volts DC and a total power rating of 3.9 watts.
